Jean Solar (b. Chile) is an independent artist and photographer based in Philadelphia, with a background in illustration, printmaking, and screen printing. He focuses on urban life through photographs taken in cities such as Philadelphia, Kyoto, Rennes, Leipzig, and Santiago. His work captures everyday moments, combining elements of documentary and street photography.

Solar studied art and photography at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver, where he also taught workshops at the UBC Learning Exchange. Since moving to Philadelphia in 2015, he has collaborated with local organizations including the Fleisher Art Memorial and Philly AIDS Thrift. In 2019, he earned a Digital Photography Certificate from the University of the Arts, continuing to expand his experimental practice.
